Brushstrokes of a Blonde Bombshell Marilyn Monroe 11x14 - Original Watercolor

As an artist, painting the iconic Marilyn Monroe is always a joy for me. In this watercolor painting, I captured the essence of the blonde bombshell without any drawn lines. Instead, I used brushstrokes and splashes of watercolor to bring her to life allowing the viewer to focus on the piece itself. At 11 x 14 inches, the painting is large enough to appreciate the intricate details of Marilyn Monroe's famous features.

One of my favorite things about this piece is the way I left portions of the canvas "unfinished." This creates a beautiful sense of incompleteness that invites the viewer to use their imagination to complete the story. The painting captures the gesture lines of Marilyn Monroe's pose with enough marks and color to tell the story but leaves plenty of white paper to create high contrast. It's an elegant representation of the sex icon, known for her work as a pinup girl in the 1950s and early 1960s, and an emblem of the era's sexual revolution.
