There is something particular about the figure when it is almost but not quite bare. Briefs, jockstraps, a towel slipping. And then there is the back view, the curve and geometry of the body from behind, the way light falls differently on that particular landscape.
I find both endlessly interesting to paint and they belong together in the same conversation.
